Scientific knowledge has helped shape the world in many ways. It allows us to develop new technologies, solve practical problems, and make informed decisions. Is science superior to God or vice versa? Are the two inseparable? Why do most scientists today try to eliminate God from the picture? Here is the truth of the matter.
There was once a time when rain activity was not known to men. Back then the earth and all its environment was watered by the rivers and its dew. God would then announce through his servant Noah that he was going to bring rain for the first time and to this the people scoffed. It was because they had no knowledge of and so they doubted. Now that is the foundation of science. God does the unthinkable and science tries to interpret. Unfortunately whatever she fails to explain she scoffs at. She seeks her own, thinks she is all-knowing and would not admit her ignorance.
Gen 6:5-8
5 The Lord saw how great man’s wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time. 6 The Lord was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was filled with pain. 7 The Lord said, “I will wipe mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth — men and animals, and creatures that move along the ground, and birds of the air — for I am grieved that I have made them.” 8 But Noah found favour in the eyes of the Lord. NIV
Information about rain activity developed afterwards and so did every other knowledge. God is the source of all knowledge. Humans simply refuse to acknowledge that and they attribute his power to the operation of natural causes. If you look up the definition of the word science it says science aims to explain and understand. Ask yourself this question, what happens when she fails to explain and understand? She lies because she would not admit nor attribute the powers to anyone. Hear what she says about miracles ‘miracles because they violate the laws of nature and logic are thus held in contempt by science’.
God has said it plainly in the scriptures
1 Cor 1:25
25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength. NIV
1 Cor 3:19-21
19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. As it is written: “He catches the wise in their craftiness”; 20 and again, “The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile.” 21 So then, no more boasting about men! NIV
Many young men, in talking about science, are wise above that which is written; they seek to explain by something that meets their finite comprehension the ways and work of God; but it is all a miserable failure. True science and Inspiration are in perfect harmony. False science is something independent of God. It is pretentious ignorance. {Messages to Young People by E.G. White 189.3}
Science cannot explain everything and therefore it is inadequate. You and I need to commit ourselves to a higher power which is the word of God. He is the Alpha and Omega Rev 1:8″I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” Rev 22:13 the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. NIV
God bless you as you begin to trust his word above the human word
