Have you ever wondered why we cannot stop all the crimes happening around the world? The answer is plain and simple but no one wants to implement it. What’s the answer you may wonder? Let’s dive into the bible and we shall find it.
Gen 3:11-17
11 And he said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?” 12 The man said, “The woman you put here with me — she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.” 13 Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”
14 So the Lord God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this, “Cursed are you above all the livestock and all the wild animals! You will crawl on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life. 15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head,
To the woman, he said,” I will greatly increase your pains in childbearing; with pain, you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.”
17 To Adam he said, “Because you listened to your wife and ate from the tree about which I commanded you, ‘You must not eat of it,’ “Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil, you will eat of it all the days of your life.
From the above text, how many beings did God sentence? Take a break and do the math. According to the scriptures the fall of our first parents involved four parties. We had the devil (perpetrator), Adam and Eve (victims), and lastly the snake (instrument).
If only we could hate sin as much as God does then there would forever be peace on earth. Unfortunately, that’s not so as humans are born into sin and our minds are enmity to God’s ways. You see after condemning our parents and the devil God made sure that even the instrument that was used in the whole fall likewise received punishment.
Was the snake to blame for all this you may ask? Our God is very smart; he knew that if he left the snake out he would have accomplished nothing by sentencing the three. To completely prevent the same event from happening again the medium used in the whole scenario was also sentenced.
This is the mistake that the world is making today. By refusing to condemn the instruments used to perpetrate the crimes, wars, diseases, immorality, and violent acts we have been unable to solve all these snags.
Tell me how we rid the world of drug-related problems if we avoid dealing with the drug factories themselves. They are not always hidden as we are made to believe. Today it is a known fact that even top government or police officials in some countries are also involved in drug trafficking.
How do we rid the world of lung cancer and other diseases when we have allowed the media to lie to us every day? You hear statements like “Smoking or Alcohol may be hazardous to health”. It’s a clear fact that the two are ruinous to health. The term ‘maybe’ is used to lure unsuspecting people to join in.
How do we solve gun crimes and violence when we have certain countries that have built strong economies off of guns and weapons manufacturing? When some people and economies benefit more when there are wars, coups, and insurgents?
How do we solve adultery and fornication when it’s all we see on television every day? When we are legalizing prostitution, pornography, nudity, and sex before marriage? The list is endless. Young children are exposed to indecent scenes and no one cares to take them off of it. We just say this is how the world is nowadays.
How do we rid the world of all this gibberish when instead of putting a stop to these instruments of crime, immorality, disease, and violence like God did with the snake we justify them? The world is all but a fraud. You would suffer persecution if you were to make a noise and stand against all these engagements. The Bible is right on this subject. Here’s what it says.
1 Tim 6:9-13
9 People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
11 But you, a man of God, flee from all this and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
Examine yourself today and see what things are preventing you from attaining pure righteousness. Are you justifying the things that are the instruments driving you to sin? If so then you need to take a bold step and denounce it right away or else this will lead you to condemnation.
Matt 5:29-30
If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. 30 And if your right-hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.
May God grant every one of us the power to overcome our weaknesses and turn to him wholeheartedly. This and only this can assure us a place in his soon-coming and everlasting kingdom.
