One of the hardest experiences in life is to be able to separate between the things of God and the things of men. A lot of my background folks can agree with me that when the going gets tough people often turn to seers, prophets, and traditional healers for help, individuals who pose as worthy people. Is there a line between God and these individuals? If so how do we handle being seduced by them? Let’s turn to the bible and we shall find out.
Eph 6:12-13
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground,
For a while, I have struggled to determine who this verse is referring to. All my life I have learned that the battle is between the two God and Satan but when there is mention of rulers and powers of this dark world sounds to me like there is more than just Satan. In reality, there are two and I will show you why in the following text.
Ex 7:8-13
The Lord said to Moses and Aaron, 9 “When Pharaoh says to you, ‘Perform a miracle,’ then say to Aaron, ‘Take your staff and throw it down before Pharaoh,’ and it will become a snake.” 10 So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did just as the Lord commanded. Aaron threw his staff down in front of Pharaoh and his officials, and it became a snake. 11 Pharaoh then summoned wise men and sorcerers, and the Egyptian magicians also did the same things by their secret arts: 12 Each one threw down his staff and it became a snake.
What do you notice here? Satan and his Pharaoh agents performed the same miracle that God did. If they could replicate God’s miracle why not a government, ruler-ship, authority, and or kingdom of power? This is exactly what the Devil has accomplished over the past generations, a counterfeit kingdom that runs and operates similarly to God’s but with a purpose darker than death itself. Jesus came to expose this kingdom and I quote
John 12:30-31
Jesus said, “This voice was for your benefit, not mine. 31 Now is the time for judgment on this world; now the prince of this world will be driven out.
John 14:30
I will not speak with you much longer, for the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold on me,
This prince can certainly have a hold on us if we give him reason to by disbelieving God’s kingdom and its principles. God commands us that we choose his side and come out of the Babylonian kingdom. Jesus came so that we might not perish but have eternal life. People have chosen the world instead. In the Bible, there is clear evidence of what this kingdom is capable of doing. Let’s look at some of them.

1 Sam 28:5-11
5 When Saul saw the Philistine army, he was afraid; terror filled his heart. 6 He inquired of the Lord, but the Lord did not answer him by dreams or Urim or prophets. 7 Saul then said to his attendants, “Find me a woman who is a medium, so I may go and inquire of her.” “There is one in Endor,” they said. 8 So Saul disguised himself, putting on other clothes, and at night he and two men went to the woman. “Consult a spirit for me,” he said, “and bring up for me the one I name.”
Has its own Christ and prophets
Matt 24:24-25
For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect — if that were possible.
Has its own Spirit
1 John 4:1-3
Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3 but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God.
What are some of the ways that show that a person is leaning on the wrong side? If you are still involved in one or any of the following practices know that you are still under the kingdom of Satan. God calls us to come out of her and be blameless. There is no agreement between light and darkness.
Deut 18:10-12
10 Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, 11 or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. 12 Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord,
Who should we turn to then when we are in peril?
Ps 121
I lift my eyes to the hills where does my help come from? 2 My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. 3 He will not let your foot slip he who watches over you will not slumber; 4 indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. 5 The Lord watches over you the Lord is your shade at your right hand; 6 the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. 7 The Lord will keep you from all harm he will watch over your life; 8 The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
May God help us to fight the evil spirits off of our lives. May he help us to have unswerving integrity and hold onto his promises even in the most trying situations?
